Marathi Prem Wardhak Mandali

The Marathi Prem Wardhak Mandali is a benevolent society operating in Mauritius since 1902. From the little thatched roof hut, the Pandurang Kshetra Mandir has grown to a prestigious well-known temple adopted by all Marathas and other Hindus of Mauritius. Of course, the history behind this success story would not have been possible without the help of our “ajobas” and “ajis”who have spared and sacrificed a lot of their time and resources in placing this temple on such strong pillars. The enthusiasm shown by the generation that followed as well need to be saluted. Had they not taken the right direction and pave the way, the Marathi Prem Wardhak Mandali would probably not have existed today. Let us now hope and wish that the coming generation will keep holding the Maratha flame, high enough, to make us a strong and well respected community.
